Amanda Flynn serves a dual role as an Environmental Scientist and Marketing Manager. She utilizes her range of responsibilities to combine the areas of environmental engineering that she is most passionate about – science, art, and communication. Amanda has over 15 years of experience and expertise in nutrient cycling, transport, and fate in rivers, lakes, and estuaries; watershed modeling and assessment; sustainable agriculture; corporate water stewardship; waterfront/waterway redevelopment and restoration; and project management. She has developed, applied, and reviewed watershed models to support TMDLs, water quality standard reviews, management programs, and sustainability initiatives for watersheds across the U.S. as well as internationally. Amanda has contributed to corporate watershed stewardship initiatives, including quantifying water quantity and quality benefits of watershed restoration activities; performing water risk assessments for agricultural products; developing water stewardship plans; reviewing and evaluating sustainable agriculture certifications and standards, and watershed stakeholder mapping. Amanda has also contributed to waterfront/waterway redevelopment and restoration through the evaluation of the physical, chemical, and biological requirements, assessment of green infrastructure for stormwater management as well as the development of design concept illustrations.
Amanda has experience in technical writing and copywriting. She has co-authored several literature reviews on various nutrient and ecosystem topics and has published peer-reviewed papers on estuarine nutrient cycling and the environmental benefits of grassland conservation. Amanda has developed copywriting content and designed layouts for web articles, newsletters, fact sheets, infographics, and informational poster displays. Amanda uses Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to create a wide range of visual content, including figures, drawings, schematics, illustrations, infographics, posters, icons, logos, etc.
Amanda has a BS in Biology from Central Michigan University and an MS in Oceanography from Rutgers University. She has also taken classes at Eastern Michigan University in conjunction with other training courses in design history and theory, graphic design, web design, and marketing. Amanda works at LimnoTech’s Corporate Headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
