Scott Bell and Chris Cieciek will be attending the 2018 Annual Michigan Association of Airport Executives (MAAE) Conference at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, Michigan. This conference is an opportunity for Michigan airport executives and professionals to network, share ideas, and address issues facing Michigan airports.

Chris Cieciek will participate in a panel discussion at the conference titled “PFAS Looking Back, Looking Forward.” PFAS have been used widely in the industrial sector since the 1950s, but have emerged in the past few years as a potential threat to human health and the environment. High concentrations of PFAS have been found at airfields around the country, likely resulting from the use of firefighting foams as part of their operations. The panel discussion will take place on Tuesday, September 11 at 1:30 pm. In addition, both Chris and Scott will participate in a roundtable discussion with airport stakeholders on Wednesday, September 12 to share their PFAS experience and offer insights.

LimnoTech’s expert staff are working to help our clients characterize the occurrence, transport, fate and risks of contaminants of PFAS in groundwater, surface waters, and contaminated sediments. We support a broad range of clients, including industries, municipalities, and government agencies, with the assessment and management of PFAS. Stop by to talk to Scott and Chris if you attend the conference, or email them at sbell@limno.com or ccieciek@limno.com to learn more about our work.
